What is pigeon net?
A pigeon net is a fine-mesh barrier fixed across the open face of a balcony, window or duct so that pigeons simply cannot get in. It is the most common bird-control job we do in Delhi NCR, and for good reason: pigeons return to the same ledge for years, and once a pair has nested, cleaning alone will never solve it.
The net we use is a UV-stabilised HDPE mesh with a 25 × 25 mm aperture — small enough that a pigeon cannot pass through or get a foothold, open enough that you keep your light, your airflow and your view. From inside the room, a correctly tensioned net effectively disappears against the sky.
How a pigeon net actually works
Pigeons are not deterred by noise, reflective tape or gels for more than a few weeks — they habituate. Physical exclusion is the only method that holds, which is why a net outperforms every gadget sold for the purpose.
The net is stretched between stainless steel eye-hooks anchored into the structural slab or side walls, not into plaster. A steel wire runs the perimeter, the mesh is laced to that wire under even tension, and every edge is closed. Birds are opportunists: a 40 mm gap at a corner is all it takes, so the edge detailing matters more than the net itself.

No. The mesh is a fine 25 mm grid, so it interrupts very little light and almost no airflow. Looking out through a properly tensioned net, your eye focuses past it within a few days and most clients say they stop registering it entirely.
It does not. A net is purely a physical barrier — there is nothing sharp, sticky, electrified or toxic about it. Birds approach it once, find they cannot land, and move to another building. This is why netting is the method recommended over gels and traps.
A standard apartment balcony is usually finished in two to four hours, including drilling, hardware fitting and clean-up. Larger terraces, multi-balcony flats and shafts may need most of a day.
Yes. The net unlaces from the perimeter wire and the eye-hooks can be taken out and the holes filled. Many tenants have us shift a net to a new flat rather than buy a fresh one.
We clear and clean the area first, and time the installation so no bird is trapped behind the net. If there are eggs or chicks, we will tell you honestly and suggest waiting until the nest is empty — sealing a live nest in is neither legal nor something we will do.
Transparent or off-white is the least visible from inside and the most popular. Black recedes best when viewed from outside the building and is often preferred by societies that want a uniform look across the facade.
