What is invisible safety grill?
An invisible grill replaces the vertical bars of a conventional MS grill with fine stainless steel cables tensioned between a slim top and bottom track. The cables are only a few millimetres across, so from a metre away the opening reads as clear — but the assembly is genuinely load-bearing.
It is the option people choose when they want child safety and security but not the visual weight of a welded grill, and when they want something that will not rust, streak the wall or need repainting every few years.
How an invisible grill is built
Aluminium tracks are anchored to the head and sill of the opening. Stainless steel cables — typically SS 304, sometimes nylon-coated — are run vertically between them at a close, regular spacing and tensioned individually so there is no slack anywhere in the run.
Cable spacing is the safety-critical dimension. Closer spacing means a smaller gap for a child to attempt to pass through, and we specify it based on who is using the space rather than to a single default. The tracks matter as much as the cables: an under-specified track will bow inward under tension long before a cable ever fails.

What Invisible Safety Grill Costs
Invisible grills are quoted per square foot, and the rate is driven by cable grade, cable spacing and frame specification. Closer spacing costs more because it is materially more cable and more labour — and closer spacing is precisely what makes it a child-safety product rather than a decorative one. Confirm the grade in writing; SS 202 is sold as stainless and will still show corrosion in Delhi NCR conditions.

For fall protection, a correctly specified one is comparable — tensioned SS 304 cable is very strong in the direction that matters, and the whole assembly is anchored into the structure. Against forced entry a heavy welded grill is still the more resistant option, so if security rather than child safety is your main concern, say so and we will tell you honestly which suits you.
Corrosion resistance, and it is not a small difference. SS 202 is cheaper and is widely sold as "stainless", but in Delhi NCR humidity and pollution it will show rust spotting within a couple of years. SS 304 does not. Always get the grade stated on the quotation.
They should not, if each cable was individually tensioned at installation and the tracks are adequately specified. Sag is usually a sign the frame is bowing rather than the cable stretching. We recommend a tension check every couple of years.
In most cases, yes — the track anchors to the head and sill of the opening and works with standard aluminium, UPVC and wooden window frames. We check at survey whether the sill can take the anchor properly before quoting.
Wipe the cables down with a damp cloth occasionally, and clean the tracks when you do the windows. There is no painting, no oiling and no rust treatment — which is a large part of why people choose it over an MS grill.
Barely. The cables are a few millimetres thick with clear space between them, so airflow is essentially unaffected and light loss is minimal — considerably less than a conventional grill with 12 mm bars.
